Saint David is the patron saint of Wales. As a child, David loved to hear stories about Jesus, so he decided to become a monk when he was older. He was a good and kind man. Saint David founded many monasteries and helped to spread the message of Christianity throughout Wales.

Saint David performed many miracles during his life. One famous story is that when Saint David was preaching to a large crowd of people, the ground is said to have risen up so that he was on a hill and everyone could see him better. Another story of a miracle that Saint David performed happened one day, while he was listening to his teacher, Paulinus. Paulinus had lost his eyesight over time and was now blind. David thought he might be able to help so he touched Paulinus’ eyes. Suddenly, Paulinus's vision was restored!

In Year One, we try to be more like Saint David by being kind, selfless and by helping others. We also aim to spread the Word of God, just like Saint David did.
